Pearly Gates

Verse 1 Lately Ive been thinking 'bout the things not of this earth. Not on treasures of this fleeting life that in Heaven hold no worth. I'm just a travlin' stranger here, This world is not my home. One day Ill see heaven clear by the grace that Ive been shown. Chorus Golden streets by walls of jasper And friends who've gone before. I'll sing with joy and praise the Master Outside my mansion's door. Don't weep for me my dearest friend If I leave before you do. I'll kneel by pearly gates and wait for you. Verse 2 Somewhere along sweet heaven's road Is a place where loved ones wait. Where their friends whose work, just not quite done, will come home right through His gates. And what a grand reunion that will be when we finally go to stay; Not a single teardrop we will see up in heav'n on that bright day. Chorus 2x |
